I am honored to be writing to you for the first time as the Head Wrestling Coach at Virginia Tech.  I can assure you that I take the responsibility of this position incredibly seriously and I could not be more excited to lead the young men in this program. 

I want to thank Whit Babcock, Desiree Reed-Francois, Chris Helms and our entire athletic administration for trusting me with this responsibility. I also want to thank all of you who have reached out to me in the last several hours.  The support truly has been overwhelming. 

Over the past 11 years, we have had many great accomplishments.  The goals and expectations of the program will not change.  Setting the standard within the ACC and being among the nations elite teams is and will continue to be the expectation.    

In the coming days and weeks, I will be finalizing a staff of assistant coaches and our team will be back on the mat for post-season training.

We need your continued support now as much as ever. I know many of you have been waiting to make your donations to the Southeast RTC until after a new Head Coach was named. We will rely on those funds to supplement coaches' salaries and to hire post-graduates like Ty Walz, who will continue to make our program better. I want to assure you that as the new Head Coach and Director of the Southeast RTC, I will insure that your donations continue to strengthen this program.
